Robotic is actually an application of Coding. In order to control a robot, one would need to program it. Learning coding may enable your child to program or control a robot, computer, and even drone.

If sitting down in front of a computer screen to learn coding is not your kid’s MO, another way to learn to code is with physical manipulables. The idea is that you learn to code by doing things with real objects in the real world.

Unlike apps and educational software developed for children, robotics activities do not involve sitting alone; in front of a computer. Robotic kits allow children to develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination while engaging in collaboration and team work. It is an effective way of introducing children to programming, which hones their logical thinking skills and sharpens concepts in Science and Engineering in an exciting, fun and real-world setting.

The robotics classes make manipulating robots a perfect way to begin to understand basic coding logic. h. Dot and Dash learn to sing, map their way around the house, become an alarm and more all using blocks of code.

Robots are mechanical devices that respond to instructions pre-programmed in their processing units. Educational robotics has become a new generation of learning manipulatives that helps children develop a stronger understanding of mathematical concepts in numeracy the same way that traditional materials like blocks, beads and balls.

Our Senior Robotics Workshops enable students to discover Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in a fun, engaging and hands on way. Working with the LEGO Education Mindstorms EV3 kits, students will be introduced to the world of robotics by building and programming robots to complete various challenges.

Students will design, construct and modify robots, developing technical skills that are much sought after in the engineering industry. They will also program their robots to carry out specific tasks, developing workflow skills, learning about logic, loops, switches , blocks and more.

Build
Throughout the academy, children will discover a range of building techniques based on the LEGO Technics system. Constructing simple mechanisms such as Gears, Pulleys & Leavers and combining them to create amazing machines. Over the course of a week, they will develop and adapt their building skills to design and build robots to solve a series of real-world challenges and missions.

Code
Children will bring their creations to life and discover the power of coding. Using simple drag and drop interfaces that can create powerful and complex algorithms children will have the power to truly take control of their robots to automate a range of tasks.

Learn
Over the course of the Academy children will build robots to take on real-world challenges. Creating physical and digital solutions, collaborating in teams to problem solve, developing computational thinking skills and much more children will be engaged in a truly fun and hands one learning experience.

Our robotic educational kits are not limited to one but include a variety to ensure age-Appropriateness. The robotic kits that are integrated into our curriculum are: Cubetto, Code-a-pillar, Code & Go Robot Mouse Activity, Dash & Dot and Kibo. These kits are specially designed for pre-schoolers and they add new dimensions of creative, fun learning for children. We are excited to empower our children to become creative leaders in the digital era. Typically 80% of each session is spent designing, building & experimenting. We offer a range of engineering and robotics based workshops that cover a wide range of subjects.

LEGO® ROBOTICS
Expose kids to science, engineering and maths through an immersive and hands-on experience with Lego® Robotics. More than just assembling LEGO pieces! Kids will have the opportunity to brainstorm, build and experiment as they programme and bring their robots to life. In doing so they are introduced to graphical based programming software and learn important programming concepts such as sequential execution and decision making.

LEGO BOOST is a perfect choice for LEGO lovers who get to build an animal, then code their creation using a simple app, and finally play with what they’ve coded. It’s a complete learning cycle. Even toddlers can get in on the act, seeing the cause of and effect of modular programing blocks like this smart jigsaw-like puzzle, Cubetto.

Bring LEGO® Bricks to life with coding! The ability to code is a key component of technology education today. Our coding programs will teach students important strategies to enhance their logic and problem-solving skills, as well as help them work toward becoming technological innovators of tomorrow.

Our programs offer skill level progression of coding concepts as students advance through multiple levels from beginner through advanced. Students will build models with LEGO® Education’s WeDo or EV3 elements, then control their models with the codes they write.
